Sadly, women start far later in life to educate themselves about their personal financial security and future. Many times it takes a divorce, a death, or a job loss for women to become meaningfully engaged in their own investments or estate plan. This conference will provide insight into the issues women face both personally and in the workplace that impact their increasingly important financial responsibilities such as investing, financial security, retirement goals, personal estate planning, careers, and more. Participants will have access to reliable information and professional panels with clear tools for success and security.
Did you know?
The average age of a widow is 56. By age 85, there will be twice as many women as men.
9 out of 10 women will be solely responsible for their finances at some point in their lives.
Women’s retirement accounts are worth far less because women spend an average of 12 years out of the work force (raising kids, spouse’s job transfers, self employment).
Women earn 24% less than men and as a result receive half the average pensions that men receive.
7 out of 10 personal checks are signed by women.
Sure, women have long owned nearly half of the financial assets in the country. And, most women work and nearly half of them are their family’s main income earner. In fact, there are over 9 million women-owned businesses, generating more than $3.6 trillion in annual revenues. Yet, despite all this, the sad fact is that shockingly few women know even a fraction of what they should about the state of their own personal and family finances.
